Staff Wish Lists

Oakland Tech teachers will be posting their 'Wish List' here for the upcoming school year. Please visit this list on a regular basis to find out which critical class supplies and materials are needed, and how you can help provide them to the Oakland Tech staff.

If you would like to contribute supplies, please contact the teacher directly by phone or email. Teachers will update and remove items from their Wish List as they receive supplies.

Several teachers also have projects listed on DonorsChoose. You can check out the Oakland Tech page here.

Thank you for helping the amazing Oakland Tech teachers make the upcoming school year a rewarding one for our students.

Wish List for OakTechRep

Hello Oakland Tech Community.

As the Technical Director for all Performing Arts, my wish-lists are often quite epic, and this year is no exception to that trend! We are beginning construction on the October drama production (finally!) and could use some help finding/purchasing/bartering materials to keep costs low and production values high!

I’ll start simple, with some basics that are helpful for our actors and my Techies in their day-to-day tasks:

- Pencils, Pens, Highlighters, Sharpeners, Erasers

- Rulers, Yardsticks, Compasses, Levels

- Kneepads (soft for actors and hard for Techies), Ace Bandage, First Aid Kits

- Safety Goggles, Work Gloves, Face Masks, Ear Protection

Now, here are some items the Acrobatics, Choir, and Tech Techies after school programs need:

- BLACK folding mats (on sale now: http://www.greatmats.com/shop/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=1342 )

- Karaoke Machine

- Electrical Drills (as well as bits, driver, etc.)

- Lumber (PLYWOOD, BOARDS, ANYTHING!)

Here’s what I know I need SOON for our upcoming show:

- LUMBER (again, always needed!)

- Plastic POND forms (http://www.builddiy.com/BECKETT-LIVINGSTON-PREFORMED-POND-LINER/dp/B000WU9J64?traffic_src=froogle&utm_medium=organic&utm_source=froogle)

- Plastic Pools (http://www.acehardwareoutlet.com/productdetails.aspx?sku=998081994)

- Concrete Pillar Forms: 3′, 3′-6″, & 4′ diameter (sonotube)

- White Paint, Black Paint (ANY paint, really)

- Fake Vines/Foliage

And lastly, my if-you-got-it-I’ll-take-it, list:

- Lumber (am I being too repetitive?)

- Old Tools or Hardware (bolts, hinges, wheels, etc.)

- Tool Cabinets or Carts

- Clothing Racks w/ wheels

- Moving dollies

- Pegboard (and hooks)

- Basically anything you would need in a work shop!

Ms. Hayes’ Wishlist!

Hello Oakland Tech Families.

This year I am teaching a 9th grade Algebra Strategies course. It is a 2nd period of math for 9th graders who have historically struggled in math. Gaining confidence in math, learning to be organized, and finding school to be a positive experience are some of the things I want to be true for my students this year. (And, of course, being successful in both my class and their Algebra class.)

To make this happen, the following items will be priceless in my classroom:
-2 pocket portfolio folders (plastic folder with 3 ring prongs inside)
-colored copy paper to help with organization
-fine point whiteboard markers to be used when we do individual whiteboard practice.
-facial tissue and hand sanitizer

Thank you in advance for your support!

Ms. Pustell’s Wishlist

Hi! This is my wishlist for room 222–English 2 Interlinks (10th grade) and Creative Writing! I’ve included links to Office Depot pages for some of the items I’m interested in, though they don’t have to be these exact items. This just lets you know what I’m looking for. Thank you so much! I’m really excited to be teaching these classes this year, and the more prepared I am with materials, the better the classes will run!

  • file boxes (http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/656328/Office-Depot-Brand-Stackable-File-Tote/) – for students to put their portfolio folders into! A total of 5 (one for each class period) – I have received 3! Only 2 to go!
  • newsprint pads (http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/407259/Pacon-Art1st-Newsprint-Pad-18-x/)
  • glue sticks
  • masking tape
  • lined filler paper
  • printer paper – we generally have enough for photocopies, but I like to let students email assignments or use the printer in my classroom to print off essays, so I go through printer paper very quickly!
  • highlighters
  • tissues! hand sanitizer! Our kids like to stay clean and healthy… so wow, do they go through this stuff like crazy!

Thank you for any contributions you can make! Every little bit helps!

I also keep an Amazon.com wishlist for my classroom that I circulate to friends and family. There is a fair amount of overlap between these two lists, but nonetheless, here’s that option: http://www.amazon.com/registry/wishlist/3BAWHNEHIZXXZ/ref=cm_wl_rlist_go_o_C-3

I have received all the hanging tab file folders I had hoped for, as well as several file boxes for assembling portfolios. This is HUGE, and I’m really excited to be starting this portfolio project with the students this year. I think this project is going to allow all of our students to shine and achieve academic success in a meaningful, supportive way. I can’t wait! Thank you SO MUCH for your contributions to helping turn this from idea to reality!
