Thank you for your interest in learning about the Oakland Tech community and in exploring all of the reasons and ways we’re Bulldog proud.
All prospective students and families are invited to attend Tech’s Information Night on Thursday, Nov. 2, from 6 to 8 PM, starting in the auditorium (off 42nd street.) This is great opportunity to learn about the Bulldog community and campus, vibrant and growing pathways, robust performing arts and athletic programs, and much more. No RSVP required. We hope to see you there.
Each year, 8th grade students and their parent(s) or caregivers have the opportunity to experience the full energy and spirit of the Bulldog community while school is in session. Tours begin with a presentation at 9 AM, followed by a campus tour led by students and accompanied by Tech parents. RSVPs are required. Given space limitations, we ask that only current 8th grade families sign up. Beginning Nov. 3, you will be able to register here for one of the following tours:
In addition to our prospective Bulldog events, we encourage you to get a sense of who we are and what we offer by browsing our website, attending athletic and performing arts events, and stopping by one (or more) of our monthly PTSA meetings, which frequently include Q & A sessions with our co-principals. Check the calendar for dates and times.
OUSD typically opens the initial enrollment period to applicants in early December and closes it in mid-January. Learn about the process here.
Families are notified of student placement in early March, which allows time to appeal (if desired) and to finalize enrollment prior to the end of the current school year.
Please note that all enrollment decisions are made at the district level.
Even if students are too late to apply during the initial winter enrollment period, OUSD’s system allows late applicants to access available spaces throughout the district.
Thank you again for your interest in Oakland Tech!
