Health Academy
The Health and Biotechnology Academy operates as a “school within a school” program for students interested in careers in health, medicine, biology or biotechnology. Students in grades 10 to 12 combine academic classes with hands-on laboratory and hospital/clinical experiences. The Academy offers frequent career speakers, field trips, mentors, First Aid and CPR certification, summer jobs, internships, and health service projects.
Enrollment in the Academy is by application. Most academy students enter as sophomores and spend two to five periods each day for three years in its intensive, close-knit program.
