Special Education

Programs for Exceptional Children is also known as the special education department of the Oakland Unified School District. Our purpose is to provide programs and services for eligible students that will enable each to participate to the maximum degree appropriate, with non-disabled peers, in the general education program and to become an independent and contributing member of our society.
