The Oakland Tech Bulldogs took an early lead, but had to rally late to defeat OAL rival Skyline, 10-9, in the first of three meetings between the two teams this season.  Matte Cornell’s dramatic 2-run home run capped a 3-run rally in the bottom of the 7th inning to stun the visiting Titans.

With one out and one on in the seventh, and the score 9-8, the left-handed hitting Cornell pulled a fastball over the right field fence for the game winner.

Tech has now won the initial game vs. Skyline for three consecutive years, but the Titans have bounced back to take the last 2 games, and the OAL Championship, in each of the last 2 seasons.  The teams next face each other on April 14th at Skyline.
