2011 Tech Boys Tennis Team at the Northern California Tennis Championships

Team tennis season has started. All boys who are interested in being on the team  must  get a physical examination given at the Tech clinic or from a medical doctor of your choice. Physical forms with parents consent and insurance verification forms are available here.

By virtue of their OAL Championship, the Boys Tennis Team will represent the OAL in the Northern California High School Tennis Tournament on May 20-21, 2011 at the Natomas Racquet Club in Sacramento. More on page 48

Tech Wins OAL Singles Tennis Championship

In an impressive showing, Tech tennis players secured all four semi-final slots in the OAL Singles Tennis Championship, ensuring a Tech sweep of the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in the tournament played at Oakland Tech from May 9 -13, 2011.  In the finals, senior Patrick Cody-Carrese won a highly competitive match in three sets over senior Derrick Fong-Stempel.

The Oakland Tech Boys Tennis Team clinched the Oakland Athletic League (OAL) Title on Tuesday May 3rd, 2011 with a 6-1 victory over Skyline. The team is now 4-1 and Skyline is 3-2 in the OAL. Tech has one more match against Oakland High on May 5th, but will still win the OAL regardless of the outcome of that final match, since Tech is 2-1 in head to head competition with Skyline. The tennis team is coached by Mr. Marlin Eagles. Skyline had won the OAL Title for the past four years.

The Boys Tennis Team will now go on to represent the OAL in the Northern California High School Tennis Tournament on May 20-21, 2011 in Sacramento.
