OUSD Now Accepting Late Enrollment Applications
Beginning January 19, 2010, the Student Assignment Office will begin to collect late applications for the 2010-2011 school year. Applications submitted after last week’s deadline will not be included in the initial round of placements. However, we encourage parents to apply as early as possible, even if they missed the initial window. Space is limited in many schools, but late applicants may still find availability if they apply soon.
Families who turned turned in applications prior to last week’s deadline will be notified of their student’s school assignment by March 8.
Late Applications are processed in the order received after the processing of all of the on-time options applications, while still taking into account Board priorities of sibling, neighborhood, program improvement, and choice. Late applications submitted by February 26 will receive notification of school placement sometime in the middle of March. Families submitting applications after February 28 will generally receive notification within three weeks of submitting their application.
Late applications should be turned into the Student Assignment and Bilingual Testing Office. Visit 2111 International Blvd., Room 1, between 8am and 2pm Monday through Friday, or call (510) 434-7780 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting (510) 434-7780 end_of_the_skype_highlighting for help.
