OUSD Jazz Festival

The OUSD Jazz Festival will be held at Tech on Thursday, February 11, at 6:30 p.m. Instrumental jazz programs from OUSD middle schools perform individually and then, at the end of the program, play a piece together. Participating high schools include Tech, Oakland High, Skyline,and MetWest. Participating middle schools include Roosevelt, Bret Harte, Edna Brewer, Elmhurst, Alliance Academy, Montera, and Westlake. This is a great, fun, free OUSD event. Please spread the word and encourage people to come hear OUSD’s talented student musicians.

Also, Tech needs help hosting the event. We need donations of bottled waters and baked goods (cookies, brownies, etc.) to sell as concessions, with proceeds going to support the music program (drop donations off at the auditorium around 6 p.m.). Also needed are volunteers to come at 6 p.m. to handle the concessions and to greet people/hand out programs. Finally, OUSD’s music department has asked for parent volunteers to come at 5 p.m. to help serve dinner to the student musicians.
