Russ Scholarships $500 for Seniors

Mrs. Gaile Bronson Russ, an Oakland resident, donated funds to the Oakland Tech PTSA to award scholarships to students who love animals. This year the PTSA will award four $500 scholarships to graduating seniors who will attend a post-secondary educational institution in 2011. The deadline is Tuesday, May 24, 4 p.m.

Students applying need to fill out the application form and submit one of the following:

–A typed essay of approximately 250 words on why animals are important to you.
–An original work of art, such as a drawing of animals, a poem, a song, or a short story, etc.

Applications can be downloaded from http://oaklandtech.com/staff/otptsa/. This is the first year of the program so please encourage seniors to apply.
