2. Senior Calendar of Events: From Ms. Morrison:
Hey Bulldog Family,
The end of the year is quickly approaching and although the year has felt extremely long I still have so much work to do and I’m antsy feeling like there is not enough time. I am hearing the same from teachers.
A few things to keep in mind:
Senior Debts
If any students owe you books, uniforms, athletic equipment or other instructional material, please provide the name of the student and the item owed to Rosemary, the treasurer by Wednesday, June 1st.
Senior Project Certificates
Ms. Walker, the substitute for Ms. Devereaux has the Senior Project certificates. Certificates will be given to staff only. Please give the memo at the bottom of this page to Ms. Walker or Ms. Devereaux when you pick up the certificates.
Final Senior Meeting
The final Senior meeting to distribute withdraw forms will be held Thursday, June 2nd during the last half of 3rd period. The students receive their withdraw forms and learn the process they must follow as they check out and prepare to attend graduation practice. During that meeting the students will also provide us with the proper spelling of their names as they wish it to appear on their diploma, complete a college/post secondary survey and final transcript request. All of these forms are important and students really need to be there.
3. Summer Professional Development–Please note that the LCI PD catalog is now on the Intranet under the teachers tab and hard-copies are being delivered. There will not be enough hardcopies to give to all teachers but you can refer to the Intranet to view the catalog and to register. Please consider registering for ACADEMIC LITERACY either in June or August. It is Tech’s and a district focus for secondary staff.
4. Professional Development Wednesday, June 1st 1:50-3:30
Our last PD for the year will be this Wednesday, June 1st. We will be meeting in the library from 1:50-2:15 for a brief update on master schedule, etc.
2:15-3:30 9th grade teachers will remain in the library for an overview of our 9th grade work, present-future. Staff members that do not work with 9th graders are invited to stay or may work with colleagues on end-of-year tasks and consider signing up for summer PD opportunities(see 3 above).
REMINDERS:
BLUE PASSES: Please do not allow students to walk in an out of your classroom. Please issue a blue pass only if a student MUST leave your classroom. I have noticed, especially on the 2nd floor, many students leaving a few classrooms, at will. Teachers, you are responsible for the students assigned to you and I expect that you monitor your students at all times. Valuable instructional time is lost when students are not in their classroom focused on their learning. It is also an extreme disruption to the school learning environment when students are meeting in the hallways and socializing.
Dismissal: Please DO NOT dismiss students from your class before the bell. I expect that students will be in class, actively engaged, in bell to bell instruction.
School Communication:
Oakland Tech Bullhorn: Please submit your articles, announcements, information and recognitions to bullhorn@oaklandtech.com. The Bullhorn is an electronic bulletin, published every Tuesday and it reaches close to 1200 households! This is an opportunity to reach students, families and community in a timely fashion.
Marquee: If you would like events, messages posted on the marquee, send the information to techmarquee@gmail.com.
Calendar/Bulletin: If you would like information posted on the school Monthly calendar or weekly bulletin, please send the information to Sheilagh.andujar@ousd.k12.ca.us.
Information Hallway: Please do not post flyers around the school. The Information Hallway, located on the 1st floor is the central location for postings.
Have a great week!
