Oakland Tech Recognitions and Appreciations

*Thanks to the Techniclinic, Peer Health Educators and Health Academy for providing students with wellness and health education last week. Informing our students about achieving and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is critical to their overall well-being. The activities were engaging and fun!

*Great Appreciations go to Fred Trotter for cooking a delicious breakfast for close to 200 seniors this past Friday. He went out of his way to provide seniors with a home-cooked hot meal. Also, thanks to Ms. Jones, Mr. Augustine and parents for their assistance.

1.  Staff Meeting: We will have a short staff meeting today at 1:30 to review procedures for closing of school, graduation details, and other up-dates.

2. Closing Bulletin: Please adhere to the Closing Bulletin (distributed two weeks ago) for detailed information and procedures to follow during this last week of school.

3. Summer Professional Development–Please note that the LCI PD catalog is now on the Intranet under the teachers tab and hard-copies are being delivered.  There are a limited number of hardcopies located in the main office.  You can also refer to the Intranet to view the catalog and to register. I highly recommend and encourage all teachers to register for ACADEMIC LITERACY either in June or August. This high quality PD addresses Tech’s need for additional strategies to differentiate supports for all of our students towards their acquisition of academic language and critical thinking skills as well as being a district focus for all secondary staff.

4. Finals: Please submit your finals to Ms. Andujar by Tuesday morning. You may submit via email or turn in a hard copy. Also, please do not allow students to leave your classroom during finals. We need to maintain a quiet learning environment throughout the week for students completing classwork and taking final exams.
