Over the past several weeks, 9th grade students, parents and guardians have had a number of opportunities to learn about Tech’s vibrant and expanding pathways (a k a, academies). Read more about the pathways here, which begin in 10th grade. Academy applications were submitted Tuesday, Feb. 21.
Interviews Week of Feb. 27
9th grade students will interview with their top choice academy the week of Feb. 27 during the school day with one exception: The Engineering Academy.
Engineering Academy Assessment, March 1: Tutoring Available
Students who mark the Engineering Academy as their first choice will take a math assessment on Wednesday, March 1, at 2:30 PM, in S3 (the Engineering studio) as well as write a response to a prompt they’ll receive that day. Students are encouraged to review the following study guide in advance of the math test, as well as attend one or more of the lunchtime and after school tutoring sessions:
Biotech will have 30 seats available for the 17-18 school year. The forms (Biotech Partners application) that were handed out at the break out session are NOT associated with Tech’s academy selection process. If and when a student is in the Biotech academy, Biotech Partners need their application to be filled out for their records.
All 11th and 12th grade academy students may have the option of being in Honors/Advanced Placement courses in and out of the academy. Paideia is included in these options.
Academy applications were handed out during the Academy Fair on Wednesday, Feb. 15. Extra applications are available from the Computer Science classes. You may also download the one below.
