Did you know that Oakland Tech is ranked #3 as the most diverse public high school in the Bay Area? Well, get ready to be a part of Tech’s Multicultural Day Celebration on Thursday, May 25 following the rally day schedule.Multicultural Day celebrates the diversity at our school and brings you a glimpse of many different cultures and stories. Many teachers will use their class time to cover special topics. There will be a festival on the field at the end of the day.
What will Mutlicultural Field Day be like?
From 2:00 – 3:35 PM, all Tech community members will join us on the field for guest speakers, live music, dance performances, spoken word, along with fundraiser booths, and much more. Everyone is encouraged to come to school dressed in cultural apparel to show your pride, bring blankets to sit on and bring money if you plan on supporting fundraisers.

All Tech clubs, student government class officers and members of the associated student body to host a fundraiser booth during the event.
To host a booth, a representative needs to fill out & submit the google formand fill out the paper fundraiser form which can be found in the gray spinner rack outside the Treasurer’s office. Once the paper form has been completed, turn it into the Leadership Mailbox located in the attendance office.
All fundraiser participants are responsible for setting up during 12:30 – 1:10 PM (5th period) and for cleaning up. Be sure to bring your own table. The student government will not require a fundraiser fee, however we would gladly appreciate any amount of donation to us from the profits you made! And please note that fundraisers do not strictly have to be food sales. Some ideas for fundraisers are mexican bracelets, henna tattoo service, etc.
Extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures. Oakland Tech is having a Teach-In on Thursday, May 25, centered on the theme of Resistance & Solidarity. We want you to participate! Come to the next Educators in Resistance meeting in room TP4 on Wednesday, May 17 and Wednesday, May 24 to get and share ideas for lessons.
