Oakland Tech’s Physical Education Dept. is offering an opportunity for rising 10th, 11th and 12th grade students to retake the state-mandated Physical Fitness Test (PFT) at the end of summer. This is specifically for students who have not met the standard in 5 of 6 testing areas.
Make Up Tests, Aug. 9
The make up tests will take place on Thursday, August 9 ONLY at 10 AM.
Students who plan on testing must be outside of the girls locker room G-12 at 10 AM and must stay until they have taken all of the tests they need to retake.
We are not able to provide a specific testing timeline because we don’t know how many students will be present for each test. For example, we may have three students who need to retake the Abdominal Strength test, or twenty. (Review the testing order below.)
What to Wear & Do
Students must arrive on time wearing athletic clothes/shoes and be prepared to warm themselves up prior to the test and cool down afterward. The PE Dept. will not provide warm up or cool down times. These are responsibility of each student.
Order of Tests
BMI: Height & Weight
Aerobic Capacity: Pacer
Abdominal Strength: Curl-Up
Upper Body: Push-Up
Flexibility: Shoulder Stretch
Students only have to retake the tests in which they did not meet the standards;
If a student is not present when we test in the area they need to retake, that student will not be able to take that test at another time (no exceptions);
No alternative test opportunities will be provided.
The next testing opportunity for 10th-12th graders will be in November 2018.
It is not mandatory that you sign up. However, doing so will help us know how many students to plan for and expect.
