The Oakland Tech girls basketball team defeated Castro Valley, 54-49, on Tuesday evening at Oakland Tech, in the first round of the NorCal CIF Playoffs.

Marquetta Stokes led the Bulldogs with 16 points, all in the first half before fouling out. Sharae Davis added 14 to go along with 13 rebounds and three steals. Jaquana Harrison also pulled down 13 boards to go along with her eight points. Caines led the Trojans with 15 points and an amazing 19 rebounds with two blocks.

The Bulldogs (18-8) now advance to the quarterfinals and will travel to El Dorado Hills to take on No. 2 seed Oak Ridge on Thursday at 7 p.m.

The Oakland Tech girls basketball team crushed Skyline, 72-42, to win the Oakland Athletic League championship on Saturday.

Tech will host Castro Valley in the first round of the CIF NorCal playoffs on Tuesday, March 9th at 6:00pm.

The Inaugural EastBay Classic showcase, taking place at Chabot College, features many of the Bay Area’s top teams, including state champ Salesian, Bishop O’Dowd, Deer Valley, and McClymonds.

The Oakland Tech boys will face El Cerrito at 2pm, and the Oakland Tech girls will face Encinal at 5pm.

Admission for students is $7 with ID, and $10 for adults.
