Tech has no trouble in OAL season opener at Oakland Tech, defeating an overmatched Fremont squad

Parents & Guardians of Oakland Tech Girls Soccer student-athletes:

There will be a parent/guardian meeting this Friday @ 7pm. Maddy’s Dad Steve Gelb is kindly hosting the event.

The meeting will give me an opportunity to introduce myself and discuss my goals for the upcoming season. It will also be an opportunity to discuss fund raising ideas, parent positions and end of season celebrations.

There will be a small food pot luck, the meeting should go no longer than 90 minutes.

Try-outs for Girls Soccer will take place November 9, 10 12, and 13. Conditioning will take place next week, November 2 – 6.  Times to be announced but may start Monday.

The team will consist of 18 – 20 players with 2 goal keepers. Practice will be Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and is mandatory. Games will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The Oakland Athletic League has decided to move both the Boys and Girls Soccer seasons to the Winter high school sport season for the 2009-2010 school year. The Winter sports season runs from late November to mid February. Previously, OAL boys soccer was a Fall sport and girls soccer was a Spring sport.
