The Oakland Tech varsity volleyball squad defeated O-High in straight sets on Thursday, 25-13, 25-10, 25-10. The win pushes the Bulldogs record to 5-1 in the OAL, as they prepare to host first-place Skyline on Tuesday, November 2nd.
The Oakland Tech volleyball team defeated Castlemont in straight sets (25-16, 25-9, 25-2) on Tuesday to improve to 5-1 in OAL.
Tech will next host Oakland High on Thursday.
The Oakland Tech varsity volleyball team jumped out to a 2-0 lead over Skyline on Tuesday, behind tough, accurate serving and excellent ball control. But those skills abandoned the Bulldogs in the final 3 games as they lost to the Titans in five (17-25, 19-25, 25-16, 25-11, 15-11).
Varsity hits the books after their win against O-High
The Oakland Tech Bulldog varsity volleyball team kicked off the 2010 OAL season with a 3-0 (25-11, 25-6, 25-8) victory at Oakland High on Tuesday.
With 4 new starters in the 2010 lineup, the Bulldogs jumped out to a 13-9 lead against the scrappy Wildcats. The lead was 20-9 after 7 straight services points from Maya, and Tech closed out the first game by a score of 25-11.
In game 2, the Bulldogs jumped out to an insurmountable 8-0 lead behind Kendall’s serving, several impressive kills from Andrina, and pinpoint setting from Elena.
In game 3, substitutes Allison, Courtney, and Michelle got into the act and finished off the match with a 25-8 win.
The JV team also started off the season successfully, defeating the Wildcats 2-0 (25-13, 25-18).
Tech next plays at Skyline on Thursday, with the varsity game at 4:00 and the JV following immediately thereafter.
