The Bulldogs bounced back from a recent Skyline loss to win over Fremont High School, 25-23; 25-21; and 25-17. Starting OH Aaliyah Douglas led the way with perfect 9 for 9 serving, 2 Kills and 2 Digs. The other Bulldog server was (7-8) Gabrielle Woodland with 2 Aces, 2 Kills and a Block. Mariale Dunbar took “top hitter” honors, with 4 Kills and one ace. Jayoni Lewis, Megan Schenk, and Roen Adams all ended the match with a Kill. With a record of 7-2, Oakland Tech finishes the volleyball season at Oakland High and Skyline.

Oakland Tech out-paced Oakland High by beating the Wildcats 25-12; 25-15; and 25-18.  Senior Kate Yungert pulled the Bulldogs through with 5 Assists and perfect serving.  Susie Haj Mohammad came in the match for relief, providing 2 Assists, 2Digs and 2-2 serving.  Mikaela Harrington recorded 3 Assists on the day, leaving Gabrielle Woodland with 5 Kills, 4 Aces, and 100% service.  Upstart Tudda Lewis began the match with a Kill and 1-2 service.  Mariale Dunbar and Martina Starc recorded 2 Kills.

Oakland Tech now matches its 6-1 record against undefeated Skyline High.

Oakland Tech came from behind and surged ahead to win over Fremont High School, beating the Tigers 25-21; 25-22; and 25-5.  Susie HajMohammad provided a real spark with 2 Assists and a timely dig against a powerful attack.  Roen Adams led the way serving a perfect 100% from the line.  “Tudda” Lewis placed an outstanding effort for the Bulldog front court, with 4 Blocks and 4 Kills.  Mikaela Harrington’s 5 Assists provided hitting kills for Martina Starc, Gabrielle Woodland and Mariale Dunbar.  Oakland Tech is now a respectable 4-1 on the volleyball season.

The Bulldogs took over Oakland with a daunting and balanced attack.  Mikaela Harrington’s leadership showed with a team high 10 Assists that resulted in a victory over the Wildcats, 25-17, 25-16, and 25-17.  Gabrielle Woodland provided the hammer by serving 88% from the line, with 5 Kills, 5 Aces and a shut-down block.  Starting hitters, Martina Starc and Megan Schenk doubled up with 2 Serving Aces and 2 Kills apiece.  For the first time, the entire Bulldog starting rotation scored a least one kill.

Oakland Tech moved forward with a big win over Fremont High School to begin the season; 25-11, 25-8, and 25-16.  Leading the offensive charge were Megan Schenk and Roen Adams with 3 Kills each.  The squad was anchored by Mikaela Harrington who provided 6 team assists.  The defensive front was bolstered by Gabrielle Woodland’s seven big passes, with 2 major lay out digs.  Tech looks forward to their next opponent, playing at Oakland High.

The Oakland Tech Girls Varsity Team played their first single-game scrimmages on October 4, 2012, winning 25-12 against Fremont, and 25-18 against Skyline.
