Orchestra and Jazz Band Spring Concert

We will have the traditional combined Spring concert on Wednesday, May 22nd 6:30pm. Both the Jazz bands and Orchestra/Chamber music students will be performing, so you’re in for a great evening of music. I will definitely need parent help to make the event a success, and I will let you contact Denise Nolan and Maret Bartlett with your availabilities/ ideas. Please spread the word.

Don’t miss this chance to hear Tech’s many talented musicians. And if you haven’t heard music in Tech’s auditorium lately, you have a special treat in store!

Come see “99 Years:The Legends and Legacies of Oakland Tech”, written and developed by OakTechRep, the Award-Winning Student Company of Oakland Technical High School. This production is based on interviews of over 60 Students, Staff, Alumni, and Community Members!

Tech Jazz Bands To Perform at Yoshi’s Jazz Club

Tech’s Jazz Bands are proud to announce a performance at Oakland’s renowned Yoshi’s Japanese Restaurant and Jazz Club!

April 15, 2013

Two shows: 7 pm and 9 pm

Each show will be different – come for both!

Yoshi’s is located at 510 Embarcadero West, at Jack London Square. Click here for directions.

We have sold enough ticket to cover the $2000.00 rent owed to Yoshis! Now we need to sell 266 more tickets to cover the $4000.00 contribution to the total $9000.00 cost for Orchestra to perform in Music in the Parks and hang out at Great America. Tickets available at $15.00 for 7 and 9 show. Ms. Andujar has hers already, PTSA is ending early to attend the late show–don’t miss it? Taxes filed, two months until summer vacation -you deserve good music, a rink and good company!

Even if you don’t have a child who’s performing, please come to support the performing arts at Oakland Tech. This is sure to be a wonderful musical event – and we rely on the support of our entire community to help our school provide the arts education that makes a difference for so many children.

Tech Orchestra at OUSD Festival Featuring Maestro Michael Morgan

The Oakland Tech Orchestra will perform in the annual OUSD Orchestra Festival on March 7th at 6:30 p.m. Nine OUSD Orchestras will perform in this gala event. Once again, Maestro Michael Morgan of the Oakland East Bay Symphony will conduct.

The Orchestra Festival will be held at Roosevelt Middle School, located at 1926 East 19th Street, Oakland.

The event is free. Please come and support our Tech musicians!

Choir Holiday Recital and Party

Please join us on December 14 as Tech’s Choir presents a festive holiday program! In addition to the concert, there will be a potluck with parents and a singalong – you don’t want to miss this fun part of the holiday season! Please bring some food to share.

The event will be held in Room A3 on the Tech Main Campus (enter through the gate on 42nd Street; the door to A3 is around the corner from the Auditorium doors, in back of the bleachers).

11th Annual OUSD Jazz Festival

The 11th annual OUSD Jazz Festival will be held on February 7, 2013 at 6:30 pm. This concert will feature the performances of spectacular jazz ensembles from schools within OUSD, including Tech’s.

The concert will be held in the Tech Auditorium, on the corner of 42nd and Broadway. Attendance is free!

Parents, please consider helping by bringing food or drink to sell in the lobby, or by volunteering to help in the lobby.
