Scholarship: Cal Grants

Scholarship Amount: Up to $9700 per year
Eligibility: If you're a graduating high school senior or recent graduate, meet academic, financial and eligibility requirements and submit two forms by March 2, you may receive a Cal Grant!
With a Cal Grant you can get up to $9,700 a year to pay for college expenses at any qualifying California college, university or career or technical school in California. Depending on which Cal Grant you get, the money can be used for tuition, room and board, even books and pencils. The best part is, it's yours to keep and you don't have to pay it back.
Here's How to Apply.
Submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) between January 1 and March 2 and submit a verified Cal Grant GPA anytime between November and the March 2 deadline. If you meet the income, eligibility, and GPA requirements, the cash is yours. The best part is, you can fill out the FAFSA online.

Scholarship: Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarships
Scholarship Amount: Up to $7500 per year for four years
Eligibility: Be a graduating, minority high school senior;
Plan to attend an accredited and approved four–year institution within the United States;
Show leadership potential;
Demonstrate a dedication to community service;
Present evidence of financial need;
Be a United States citizen;
A minimum SAT score of 1,000 combined on the math and critical reading sections or a composite ACT score of 21; and
Not possess a degree from a 2 or 4–year College when applying for the scholarship.

Eligibility: Eligibility Requirements
•Be of Hispanic heritage

•Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
•Have plans to enroll FULL-TIME in a degree seeking program at a two or four year U.S. accredited institution in the U.S., Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands or Guam during the 2010-2011 academic year
•Must apply for federal financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
•Be pursuing first undergraduate or graduate degree

Scholarship: Hispanic Scholarship Fund Winchells Scholarship

Scholarship Amount: $3000
Eligibility: Eligibility Requirements
•Be of Hispanic heritage.
•Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired)
•Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
•Be a FULL-TIME student in a degree seeking program at a four year accredited U.S. institution in California during the 2010-2011 academic year.
•Must currently reside or attend school in California with a preference given to students from one of the following locations: Greater Los Angeles, San Diego, Northern California.
•Preference given to students attending Loyola Marymount University, University of San Diego.
•All Majors allowed with preference given to students majoring in Business Administration, Accounting, Advertising, Economics, Finance, Human Resource Management, Hospitality Management, Management, Marketing or Public Relations.

Scholarship: B. Davis Scholarship

Eligibility: This Scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any post secondary institution. Between the ages of 16 and 30. Scholarship: Presbyterian Church New Immigrant Scholarship
Scholarship Amount: $1500
Eligibility: A new immigrant to the United States (a non-citizen of the U.S.A., anyone who has been living in the country for
five years or less—regardless of immigration status);
A woman between the ages of 18 and 25;
An applicant of or student at an accredited post-secondary institution of higher learning (i.e. college, university, or
trade school);

Scholarship: Hispanic Community Affairs Council Scholarship
Sponsor/Organization: Hispanic Community Affairs Council
Scholarship Amount: $750 to $1500
Eligibility: The applicant must be of Hispanic heritage as defined by the U.S. Department of Education.
The applicant must be a graduating senior, past-year GED recipient, community college student, transferring community college student, student attending a four-year institution, or a student accepted into a post-graduate program or teacher credential program.
The applicant must be a resident of Alameda County.
The applicant will be evaluated on the following criteria, in order of importance:
Financial Need,
Scholastic Record,
Essay,
Interview.
The applicant must plan to attend an accredited community college, university or approved technical or vocational school.
