Scholarship: Triple-Impact Competitor Scholarship Program
Sponsor/Organization: Positive Coaching Alliance, Deloitte, and Thrive Foundation for Youth
Scholarship Amount: Four $1000 scholarships
Eligibility: The Triple-Impact Competitor Scholarship Program, sponsored by Deloitte and the Thrive Foundation for Youth, honors ethical student-athletes who have a positive impact on three levels:
•Personal Mastery: Making oneself better
•Leadership: Making one’s teammates better
•Honoring the Game: Making the game better.
High school juniors (class of 2012) who are student athletes and have a minimum gpa of 2.5 are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

Scholarship: The National LGBT Scholarship Fund
Sponsor/Organization: Point Foundation
Scholarship Amount: Point’s scholarship award covers a variety of expenses such as tuition, books, room, board and basic living expenses. Some scholars may only need money to cover living expenses or books while others may need more. Point makes every attempt to assist each scholar to the full extent possible so they may focus on their academic career rather than worry about funding.
Eligibility: Applicants do not need straight A’s to apply, yet Point is looking for individuals who have proven
leadership skills, excellent scholastic achievements, and want to make a difference in the world. All applicants are evaluated on the totality of their situation including, academic accomplishments, financial, emotional and social need, extracurricular activities, personal circumstances, and goals for the future.

Scholarship: PG&E Hispanic Employees Association
Sponsor/Organization: Hispanic Employees Association of Pacific Gas and Electric Company
Scholarship Amount: $500 up to $1,000
Eligibility: An applicant must be enrolled in college or planning to attend college in the fall of 2011. All eligible applicants must live within the PG&E service territory and must be able to provide a copy of a PG&E bill, upon request. A phone interview may be conducted at the discretion of the HEA Scholarship Committee. Applicants are required to submit all of the following:
• HEA Scholarship Application and Supplement
• Copy of cumulative GPA (current official transcript)
• Letter of recommendation submitted by a teacher, faculty member, or school counselor
• An essay: two pages (maximum) double-spaced, 12-point font
• A PG&E bill, upon request (as proof of living within the PG&E Service Territory)

Scholarship: Northern California Scholarship Foundations
Sponsor/Organization: Northern California Scholarship Foundations
Scholarship Amount: $7000 a year for four years.
Eligibility: In order to receive a scholarship from the Northern California Scholarship Foundation you must be a high school senior attending a Northern or Central California public school. Scholars will only receive an application if they are nominated by their high school counselor. Students should have financial need, high gpa and SAT scores, outstanding moral character, participate in extracurricular activities, have a clear idea of which college courses they intend to pursue and some idea of what they intend to do for their life work. Interested students should see Ms. Johnson by Jan. 20.

Scholarship: Shell Oil Company Technical Scholarship Program
Scholarship Amount: $2500 first year, renewable at $5000 per year.
Eligibility: The Shell Oil Company Technical Scholarship Program focuses on developing talent in the engineering and geosciences field by providing assistance to graduating high school seniors who have expressed an interest in the energy industry and demonstrated an aptitude in mathematics and science. Plan to enroll full-time in one of the following majors (geology, geophysics, physics, chemical, civil, electrical, geological, geophysical, mechanical or petroleum engineering) at one of these schools: Colorado School of Mines, Cornell, Florida A&M, Georgia Institute of Technology, Louisiana State Univ, Baton Rouge; MIT, Michigan State U, North Carolina A&T Univ, Ohio State, Columbus; Penn State, Prairie View A&M, Rice U, Stanford U, Texas A&M, U of Colorado, Boulder; U of Houston, Univ Park; U of Illinois, Champaign Urbana; U of Oklahoma, Norman; U of Texas, Austin; U of Texas, El Paso.
