Eligibility: Various scholarships. Students can apply only for one:
Ellen Greer Posey Scholarship, $1000. African American female or male attending an Oakland public high school, 2.8 gpa or above.
Ida Louise Jackson Scholarship, $1000. African American female attending high school in Alameda or Contra Costa county, minimum gpa of 3.0 and planning to attend UC Berkeley or an historically Black college or university.

Scholarship: Nordstrom Scholarship for Juniors
Scholarship Amount: 40 $10,000 scholarships
Eligibility: To be considered for a scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
•Be a high school junior
•Have and maintain a cumulative unweighted GPA of at least 2.7 (on a 4.0 scale) throughout your high school career
•Have participated in community/volunteer activities
•Be planning to apply for financial assistance to attend college
•Attend an accredited four-year college or university during all years for which the scholarship is awarded
•Maintain a cumulative unweighted GPA of at least 2.7 (on a 4.0 scale) throughout your college career
--Be eligible to attend a four-year college or university in the United States
•Live and attend school in one of the participating geographic areas designated by Nordstrom (Northern California okay)
•Not have a conviction for any crime

Scholarship Amount: $500 to $1500 plus annual book stipend of $250.
Eligibility: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will be awarding scholarships ranging from $500 to $1500, to outstanding Bay Area African American female high school graduates. The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of scholarship achievement and financial need. Minimum GPA 3.0.

Scholarship: The California Legislative Black Caucus Youth Leadership Scholarship

Eligibility: The California Legislative Black Caucus (CLBC) Youth Leadership Scholarship, established in 2009, is offering $1,000 scholarships to youth attending any institution of higher education for professional, academic, or vocational training and development.

Scholarship Amount: $2500 over four years for four-year institution, $1000 for community college
Eligibility: CHCI's scholarship opportunities are afforded to Latino students in the United States who have a history of performing public service-oriented activities in their communities and who demonstrate a desire to continue their civic
engagement in the future. There is no GPA or academic major
requirement. Students with excellent leadership potential are
encouraged to apply.

Scholarship Amount: several scholarships ranging from $500 to $1500
Eligibility: Any high school senior who
intends to pursue a career in engineering, mathematics, or physical or natural sciencesis eligible to apply (students
intending to be medical doctors, architects, etc. are not eligible). Past finalists have had grade point averages near 4.0, high
SAT scores, and involvement in numerous extracurricular activities. Applicants must be either residents of the eight counties
comprising the AIAA San Francisco Section (San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Alameda, Contra Costa,
Marin, and Solano)

Scholarship Amount: Six $1000 scholarships
Student must be a high school senior graduating in Spring 2010 and committed to earning a college degree.
Minimum GPA of 3.7.
Student must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
Student must be available to be interviewed on camera.
KGO-TV/DT must receive an official school transcript by 8:00PM on Wednesday, March 31, 2010.
Student must fully complete application form, including all attachments listed on Page 3 of this application, due to KGO-TV/DT by 8:00PM on Wednesday, March 31, 2010.
Incomplete applications will not be eligible for the ABC7 Top Scholars program.
Applicant must be nominated by his or her school. Applications may be obtained from counseling office.

Eligibility: --African American graduating high school students residing in Alameda or Contra Costa counties and enrolled in four (4) year program at a university or college for the Fall 2010 and Winter 2011 semesters.

--Cumulative GPA of 2.5/ 4.0 Scale
--Active in Community Service Initiatives
--Meets the Criteria set forth by all four Cardinal Principals :
Manhood-Having a since of responsibility and manly qualities.
Scholarship-Ability to show quality performance inside as well as outside the classroom.
Perseverance-The ability to start a task and finish it despite difficulties.
Uplift- The ability to elevate or raise those around you.
