Scholarship Amount: Four $500 scholarships
Eligibility: Mrs. Gaile Bronson Russ, an Oakland resident, donated funds to the Oakland PTSA to award scholarships to students who love animals. This year the PTSA will award four $500 scholarships to graduating seniors who will attend a post-secondary educational institution in 2013. Students applying need to fill out the application form and submit one of the following: --A typed essay of approximately 250 words on why animals are important to you. --An original work of art, such as a drawing of animals, a poem, a song, or a short story, etc. The deadline is Tuesday, May 24, 4 p.m. Please place your submission in the PTSA box in the office. Submissions will be judged anonymously, so do not put your name on the actual submission. Make sure that your application form is attached to your submission.
