Eligibility: Brain Battle 2011 is a scholarship contest for Bay Area Spoken Word and Rap Artists to inspire themselves and others to pursue and/or continue their educational goals by using SAT vocabulary words in original rap and/or spoken word pieces. Finalists will perform at the SuperSATurday College Fair and Rally May 21 in front of a panel of celebrity judges.

Youth Automobile Safety Scholarship for children of public employees

Scholarship: Youth Automobile Safety Scholarship for children of public employees

Sponsor/Organization: Civil Service Employees Insurance Company

Scholarship Amount: Scholarships in the amount of $1,500 for first place, $1,000 for second place, and $500 each for third through fifth places to a child of a full-time or retired public employee

Eligibility: Applicant must be a California, Arizona or Nevada resident attending his or her senior year of high school. Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. Applicant must have been accepted to an accredited four-year college or university, or trade school, in the United States, with intent to enroll as a full-time freshman in the Fall session. The applicant's parent or legal guardian must be currently employed full-time by -- or if retired or deceased, must have been employed full-time by -- a government entity. This definition of public employee includes, but is not limited to, peace officers; firefighters; educators; postal employees; military personnel; and federal, state, and local government workers.
