Scholarship: National Dunbar/Horace Mann Alumni Association
Eligibility: Applicant must be College-Bound African American high school seniors with a GPA of 2.75 or higher, with evidence of need.

Additional Information: Applicant must submit an essay of 250-500 words on (1) what their major will be, (2) what their goals are for the future, and (3), a brief synopsis on the life of Paul Lawrence Dunbar.

Eligibility: Eligibility Requirements
* Be of Hispanic heritage
* Be a U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident or eligible Non-U.S. citizen
* Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
* Have plans to enroll FULL-TIME at a U.S. accredited institution in the U.S., Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands or Guam during the 2012-2013 academic year
* Must permanently reside OR attend an institution in one of the following states:

o Illinois

Scholarship: Chicano Organizing and Research in Education (CORE) Scholarships

Scholarship Amount: $500 to $1000
Eligibility: The “Que Llueva Café” Scholarship aims to support the dreams, hopes and aspirations of college
bound undocumented students so that they can earn their college education and allow for all of
their hard work and sacrifice to persevere. This scholarship program strives to make a world of
difference.
Eligibility Criteria:
• Must be of Chicano / Latino descent
• Must be an undocumented student. We define an undocumented student as someone who was
born outside of the U.S. but lives here without the legal permission of the federal
government.
• Must be or will be a high school/GED graduate who will enroll for the first time in an
accredited college or university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico for the 2011-2012 academic year.
Due to limited funds, students enrolled in college after they have graduated will not be
considered.
• Must demonstrate financial need.
• Must demonstrate academic potential and promise.

Scholarship: Achievement Award Program/UC Berkeley
Sponsor/Organization: Cal Alumni Association
Scholarship Amount: Up to $6,000 each year and a laptop.
Eligibility: Each year, highly qualified and community-minded students with a proven track record of academic success, gain admission to Berkeley but cannot afford to attend. The Achievement Award Program (TAAP) offers these students substantial scholarship funding and support services to provide the opportunity of a Berkeley education.
The Achievement Award Program is a four-year scholarship program for incoming freshman students and a two-year scholarship program for incoming junior transfer students.
•Minimum 3.0 unweighted GPA
•Gross family income of $86,000 or less
•California resident as defined by the AB 540 guidelines
•Submit a UC Berkeley application for Fall /Spring enrollment
•Submit a Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) to UC Berkeley by May 1.
