Scholarship: Asian Employees Association at the Port of Oakland Scholarships
Sponsor/Organization: Asian Employees Association
Scholarship Amount: $1000 to $4000 scholarships for a total of $30,000
Eligibility: Criteria for Scholarship Application:
Applicant must be a resident of the City of Oakland and currently enrolled in an Oakland public or private high school. Applicants who are children of the Port of Oakland employees may be enrolled in any high school.
Applicants of any ethnic or cultural background are encouraged to apply.
Applicant must be a high school senior who intends to pursue a bachelor's degree at an accredited university or college on a full time basis.
Applicant must possess an overall grade point average of 3.0 (B average) or better.
The AEA Scholarship Committee will carefully review all applications. Selected applicants will be invited to interview with the committee and awarded scholarships based on:
Potential for academic achievement.
Potential for impact on the community, both immediate and long-term.

Scholarship Amount: $2500 over four years for four-year institution, $1000 for community college
Eligibility: CHCI's scholarship opportunities are afforded to Latino students in the United States who have a history of performing public service-oriented activities in their communities and who demonstrate a desire to continue their civic

Scholarship: Scholarship for the Arts
Sponsor/Organization: Beach Blanket Babylon and Steve Silver Foundation
Scholarship Amount: Three $10,000 scholarships
Eligibility: Eligibility
o All applicants must be legal residents of the United States or one of its official territories.
o Students must be seniors enrolled at a Bay Area High School or home schooled (within 100 miles of Club Fugazi in San Francisco).
o Students must include a completed entry form along with a recording of their performance.
o Scholarships are awarded based on talent. Grades and financial needs are not factors.
o Scholarship awards are contingent upon proof of enrollment at an accredited post-secondary institution. If you are chosen as a winner, you must agree to attend an accredited post-secondary institution within a year of receiving the scholarship award.
o Application must include signature verification that information provided is accurate and that the scholarship award will be applied toward the cost of the education at a fully accredited institution.

Scholarship: Students Rising Above Scholarships
Sponsor/Organization: Students Rising Above
Scholarship Amount: SRA covers all of our students’ expenses that are not otherwise covered by other scholarships or by financial aid. In addition to tuition, SRA pays for most living expenses, provides the resources for our students to participate in extracurricular activities such as music or sports, and ensures that all students have the tools and supplies they need for school, which includes computers, printers, software, clothing, bedding, and other necessities.
Eligibility: Open to current JUNIORS only. Students must meet the following criteria:
• Strong moral character
• Have overcome obstacles that are not of their own making
• From a low-income family
• High School Senior in 2010-2011 school year
• Committed to earning a four-year college degree
• Highly recommended by a teacher, counselor, or mentor
• Willing to share their personal story
• Maintain a G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher
• Live within the nine-county Bay Area

Sponsor/Organization: PDK International (Phi Delta Kappa), the professional association in Education
Scholarship Amount: $1000
Eligibility: Open to seniors intending to major in education: member of a Future Educators Association chapter; the child or grandchild of a Kappan; a student who has a reference letter written by a Kappan, or a student who is chosen to represent the local PDK chapter.
