Bell Schedule

For the 2021-22 school year, Oakland Tech has adopted a seven-period modified block schedule that provides more opportunities for scholars to succeed in their core courses, Pathways, electives, dual enrollment, and credit recovery. The schedule provides adequate travel time for students who have classes on both campuses. The seven classes for credit meet in periods 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8 (there is no period 4). An additional  45-minute advisory/study hall period is scheduled on Wednesdays and Fridays at 10:20 a.m.

Dismissal times for scholars: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at 3:40 p.m.; Wednesday and Friday at 2:55 p.m.

Exceptions to Monday schedule due to holidays and teacher PD day:

  • Week of November 8: 11/8/21 follows Thursday schedule, and 11/11/21 is holiday.
  • Week of January 10: 1/10/22 follows Friday schedule, and 1/14/22 is teacher PD day.
  • Week of March 28: 3/28/22 follows Friday schedule, and 4/1/22 is holiday.

PSAT Testing Day, Wednesday, October 13: PSAT/NMSQT Test administered 8:40-12:45 for all 10th grade students; also for students in 11th and 9th grade who opt in and pay the registration fee. All other students attend regular classes. (Note: Monday, October 11, is a holiday that week.)

Teachers’ work day ends at 3:40 on Thursday and 2:55 on Wednesday and Friday.

Thursday, May 26, is a non-student teacher work day, 8:40-3:40.

AC Transit Bus Schedules:

This year, two supplementary buses will serve Oakland Tech: 657 and 696. They will pick up students on the early release schedule after school on Wednesdays. On Friday, they will pick up students at 3:40pm. Oakland Tech’s after school program provides a selection of educational and enrichment activities and independent study space for all students. It begins at 2:55pm on Wednesday and Friday and 3:40pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
