Student “Taking Action” Project Explores Sexual Harassment
School NewsComments Off on Student “Taking Action” Project Explores Sexual Harassment
In their CA Studies classes, Tech’s 9th grade students explore relevant and timely topics for a project called “Take Action.” Here is one recently completed video and a student-written introduction …
For our Taking Action Project, we chose the Feminist Movement. We decided to focus on sexual harassment because of the recent actions of modern feminist groups like the Me Too movement and the Times Up movement that are working on changes surrounding sexual harassment and abuse. Our video is about sexual harassment, specifically in schools and at Oakland Tech. In the video, you will see some statistics and all of them come from the survey we asked middle and high schoolers to take. We also interviewed multiple teachers at Tech, asking their perspective, and observations around sexual harassment in schools. We hope you enjoy and learn something from the video. Thanks for your time.
