Attendance matters. Be sure to acquaint yourself with Tech’s new, beefed-up attendance policy regarding unexcused absences and tardies.
Unexcused absences impact academic grades. Teachers do not have to give students with unexcused absences classwork from the days missed — this includes missed quizzes and exams. Put simply, teachers can only teach students who attend. They cannot teach those who do not.
6 or more unexcused absences in a marking period in one class means students:
Accruing a high number of tardies ensures students receive a “U” (unsatisfactory) in citizenship.
Students who receive two U’s in citizenship will not be allowed to participate in school-sponsored events. Student-athletes who earn two “Unsatisfactory” (2-U’s) will be benched in their team sport and students who attend events such as dances are subject to removal and may not be able to get a refund.

Saturday School takes place on the Saturday following the last day of each marking period since grades are impacted by attendance/performance. Saturday School is from 8:30 AM-12:30 PM in the Tech library. Check the calendar for dates.
