Dear Oakland Tech community:
The year is off to a great start. We had a lot of new faces at our PTSA meeting on Monday, where Siggy Rubinson shared information about Roomily, and we learned more about the proposed development at 5212 Broadway, including the timeline for design review and construction. Teacher Liaison Keith Debro shared with families the many housing challenges OUSD staff face, and asked for support in addressing the housing shortage in our community. We look forward to partnering with the teachers on this long-term project. Information from the Oakland Housing Resource Center will be available in the office next week.
Finally, we approved more than $38,835.15 in grants for sports, technology and projects large and small. The list of funded grants is below, and if you feel like something is missing, please reach out. We’ve funded books and science requests out of separate funds and will report on that soon. We’ll also do another round of grants for the Spring. Watch the Bullhorn for the grant applications in January.
