Your PTSA donations at work!  Last year’s Raise the Paddle at the auction generated $29,000!
The PTSA just purchased 967 texts, novels, workbooks and study guides for $24,000.
The books were specifically requested by 18 teachers and logged into the text/novel book system so that, for example, the new novels can be used by more than just those who requested them.
Some requests were to complete or expand existing sets, replace damaged books, update outdated textbooks and to enhance or expand curriculum.
The offer of new books was open to all teachers and requests came from a broad swath of teachers to be used by/in: the entire freshman class, Physics, AP Biology, AP Environmental Science, AP Gov, Spanish, Mandarin, World History, and 8 English teachers across different grades, campuses and academies.
$6,000 of the requested books were provided by the district and about another $1,000 worth of books were donated from Skyline which discontinued their Mandarin program.
Thank you to everyone who donated at last year’s auction!
