Oakland Tech Students and Families,

I have had the pleasure of working on the administrative team at Oakland Tech for the past 15 years. I have loved every minute of this work and have decided that I will graduate with the class of 2020. Fifteen years ago, I was welcomed into this community as a new administrator from the elementary school arena. My love for the Oakland Tech community is deep and unwavering. I have a difficult time separating Staci Morrison the person from Staci Morrison the principal of Oakland Tech. It has been a very difficult decision for me to make but I have decided that it is time for me to continue my professional career beyond the walls of Oakland Tech.

This is a personal decision that has been very difficult to make. Leading this community has been the most rewarding work I have ever done. The young people I have met during my time here at Oakland Tech have each left an impression on my heart, I will always carry with me fond memories of our time together. Although I will no longer be your principal, please know that I will always do what I can to support each and every one of you.

I will continue to work and fight for a quality education for all students. This is my calling and driving force. Living through this shelter-in-place has given me time to sit, think and listen to my heart. I have always dreamt of returning to school to become a psychologist to be able to serve my community through a different lens. I plan to continue to work in education and would like the opportunity to follow and accomplish my dreams.

Students, working with you has been amazing and truly is the best part of the job. The Oakland Tech staff is an amazing collective of educators who will continue to serve your needs and feed your interests. We have worked to create amazing systems and structures to give you the best educational start that we can offer. Please continue to work hard and put yourself in the best position to accomplish your dreams. YOU are all you need. Stay focused and work hard!

As far as selecting a new principal for Oakland Tech, you will receive an email from our Executive Director, Vanessa Sifuentes, relatively soon. Please be on the look out for that and reach out to her with any questions.

Thank you for teaching me so much and allowing me to serve you.
