Oakland Tech’s College & Career Center has scheduled College & Career Night events on Feb. 9 (for 11th grade families) and March 9 (for 9th and 10th grade families). These live zoom Webinars are designed to help students and their families plan for life after high school. Here are the details:

Planning for Success 1: College & Career Night for 11th Graders
Tuesday, Feb. 9 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

  • What’s next after high school: Getting ready for Senior year and beyond
  • What are some implications of the COVID pandemic on the college application process?
  • Considering all options including universities, community college, vocational training, gap years, and more
  • What college is right for you: How to find the right college “fit”
  • College admissions requirements – Confirming you are on track with classes and testing
  • College attendance costs and strategies to pay for college
  • Resources for you and your family to navigate the college process
  • College application process – Important admissions dates/deadlines

Planning for Success 2: College & Career Night for 9th and 10th Graders
Tuesday, March 9 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

  • What’s next after high school: Making your plan now
  • Considering all options including universities, community college, vocational training, gap years, and more
  • What college is right for you: How to find the right college “fit”
  • College admissions requirements – Course selection and testing option
  • Building your unique profile – Extracurricular and summer activities, internships and jobs, community service
  • College attendance costs and strategies to pay for college
  • Resources for you and your family to navigate the college process

Zoom registration will be emailed to students via their OUSD student email.

  • Parents are strongly encouraged to attend with their student!
  • Due to limited space, please only one registration per family.
  • The webinar will be recorded and posted to the OT website.
