Join the Work Experience Class. The goal of this class is to enable you to become a productive responsible individual through supervised paid employment experiences.

This class will benefit you if you:

  • Need extra OUSD elective credit in order to graduate on time.
  • Are working but struggling academically. Having a regular connection to a WEE teacher to help navigate the complexity of school + work could help them stay in school and also keep their job]
  • Are working but having a hard time at work, either not performing well (i.e. have a history of being fired/quitting etc.) or struggling to advocate for their needs at work (i.e. being mistreated, or assigned hours that make it hard to fulfill school or family obligations)  [Having a WEE teacher to coach them through challenges at work could help them learn the habits necessary for them to overcome obstacles and keep a job.]

To participate in this class and receive credit we require that you:

  • Be working in a qualified job
  • Participate in a session once a week (8th Period)
  • Complete the work schedule spreadsheet assignments in Google Classroom
  • Turn in your pay stub at the end of every marking period
