In May, Assistant Principal Martel Price reached out to incoming 9th grade families to inform them that the Oakland Tech Summer Bridge program normally offered for the new class of 9th graders will not be possible this year.
For those who did not receive this message, Mr. Price would again like to express his regret that the school was not able to staff this year’s Summer Bridge program, and reassure reassure you that Oakland Tech’s 9th grade team is planning a robust orientation program for the start of the new school year.
“Please know that your children/students will be taken care of once they get here,” Mr. Price stated in his previous message. “As the 9th grade team truly understands the difficulties associated with the 9th grade transition year to high school, and I am sure we will have even more sympathy/empathy for this fact as we transition back into in-person learning.”
Details about registration and orientation activities will be communicated to all Oakland Tech families before the new school year begins on Aug. 9.
